The Achievement Coach: More about Nick

Nick-Smith-Head-ShotNick Smith MSc set up The Achievement Coach in 2009 after a period of intensive study and practical experience to gain greater insight and understanding of this specialist field.

This followed several years in a learning and development role within a human resources environment where he identified a gap in the skills of senior managers and executives.

His career began as an aircraft engineer, a role that included training and related projects for the RAF and other high-profile organisations. This sparked his interest in personal development which evolved over the years and today sees him providing a dedicated, bespoke range of coaching services across a variety of sectors.

Passionate about the benefits of coaching, Nick believes individuals have the power to achieve great things with the right motivation, confidence and self-belief. Constantly exploring new methodologies he is also an accredited practitioner of the Emotional Capital Report (ECR) and Clarity4D. These are used worldwide and identify emotional intelligence, individual personal values and strengths; they are key elements in business management and leadership development. Utilising these great learning platforms means, personal development, future growth and success are more likely.

In his own life, Nick aims to achieve a good work/life balance, something to which many of his clients also aspire. He spends quality time with his family, enjoys Nordic Walking and as a member of Toastmasters International continues to develop his skills as a public speaker.

He particularly enjoys his voluntary role as a business mentor with the Prince’s Trust, an organisation dedicated to helping vulnerable young people move into work, education and training.

‘Nick’s final assignment was one of the best we’ve ever seen and Nick passed his certification with flying colours! It’s great to have him as a professional colleague within ECR.’
